Meet Rob Naylor Jr. — The Light Behind Relax DMV
Share
With more than twenty years in the U.S. Air Force service under his belt, Rob Naylor Jr. knows that resiliency isn’t just a skill — it’s a lifeline. Multiple tours in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other high-stress, high-heat environments taught him that true strength comes not only from endurance but also from learning how to rest, recharge, and restore your spirit.
During his military career, Rob pursued higher education, earning advanced degrees that deepened his understanding of leadership, organizational development, and wellness. His academic journey, paired with his on-the-ground military experiences, fueled his mission to create meaningful solutions for mental and emotional well-being.
"After years of operating in high-pressure environments, I understand how vital it is to create your own space for peace. My mission now is to make that space accessible to everyone, one candle at a time." — Rob Naylor Jr.
Rob first put that mission into action by developing a mental wellness program for the Department of Defense ("Stronger Together" see video below), designed to strengthen the Air Force’s already solid pillars of resiliency. While COVID and duty assignments eventually paused the program, it sparked a new path — one that blended his leadership skills, wellness advocacy, and creative passion.
That creative passion? Candle making .
"I value traditional therapy, but nothing matches the healing power of candle making for me."
What started as a personal therapy quickly became a craft Rob honed with precision and artistry. He discovered the transformative power of scent — how a flickering wick and carefully chosen fragrance could instantly shift a mood, calm the mind, and create space for peace.

Today, through Relax DMV , Rob channels his service experience, educational expertise, and artisan skill into mood-based luxury candles and aromatherapy products. His goal is simple yet profound: to help others find moments of calm, clarity, comfort, and joy — no matter where life takes them.
